SYAM DISPLAY FRAMES

It is a requirement of BS5839 Part 1 that adjacent to the fire alarm panel is a drawing showing the fire alarm zones, entrances and circulation areas.  A fire alarm without a zone drawing fails to satisfy clause 18 of 39.2 of BS5839 and therefore fails commissioning.

Labels with text stuck on the fire alarm panel will not meet BS5839 and they are often confusing to someone unfamiliar with the building even in relatively small premises.

Remember, the fire officer that attends a fire alarm will generally never have visited the premises before.  Inadequate information may cause delays that might lead to additional loss of property or life and could place the lives of fire-fighters in unnecessary jeopardy.
